Art Practice
For me, art practice involves the development of and commitment to a creative act or idea translated, expressed, or re-routed through a process of material production (i.e the creation of artefacts, documents, models, 'things'); and/or the translation of ideas, emotions, and 'things' through embodied processes (i.e a performance, a situation, or mood) that generates experience with or for a public, even an imagined one. What differentiates art practice from other practice for me is that artists do not always know exactly what it is their practice is doing, or who or what it is for, and this not-knowing is integral to its potential for being something different to knowledge (at least knowledge as it is known).
